Berkeley Prep volleyball gets national ranking

The Berkeley Prep volleyball team came in at No. 16 in the PrepVolleyball.com National Top 100 Preseason rankings. The Buccaneers, who won the Class 3A state title last season, return All-American outside hitter Jordan Burgess, setter/opposite hitter Mackenzie Dagostino and libero Natasha Rowland.

Plant, which was ranked No. 6 in the final National Top 100 last year, did not crack this year’s preseason 100. The Panthers, the four-time defending state champions who return three Division I hitters, were listed as a team on the bubble from Florida.

Berkeley and Plant face off in a preseason match Tuesday at Venice High at 5 p.m.
