Berkeley boys hoops tourney begins today

Action gets underway today with the Berkeley Prep boys basketball invitational at Berkeley Prep.

Today’s opener in this eight-team tourney is East Bay vs. St. Petersburg at 3 p.m., followed by Admiral Farragut vs. Wharton (4:30), Strawberry Crest vs. Vero Beach (6 p.m.) and, in the nightcap, Lakeland vs. Berkeley (7).

Tuesday’s winners bracket games are at 6 and 7:30 p.m., with losers bracket games at 3 and 4:30 p.m.

The championship game is Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. There’s also a game for 3rd and 5th place at 6 p.m., preceded by a game for 4th/6th place at 4:30 and a 7th/8th place game at 3 on Wednesday.
