Plant High freshman guard Michael Frazier, Tampa Prep freshman guard Devontae Morgan and Oldsmar Christian freshman forward Quinci Mitchell were named to the ESPNU 100 To Watch List for the Class of 2012.
Here’s what was said about Frazier:
Another freshmen with tons of potential. Frazier is a true shooting guard with three point range. He has good size and a scoring mentality. Frazier competes and plays hard on both ends of the floor. He seems cool under intense ball pressure and was able to deliver the ball to an open teammate. If he continues to improve this kid could make his presence felt in the talent rich state of Florida.
About Mitchell: This big body post plays extremely hard and does a great job competing for rebounds on both ends. He is a below the rim athlete that uses his strength to move the opponent to score and take possession of the ball. He tends to step out for three and drive the lane but is clearly not his strength yet. Excellent potential and upside especially if he continues to grow.
About Morgan: Morgan has a good basketball body for a player his age. He is a good driver and slasher that moves the defender with an excellent ball fakes before attacking. He likes to attack the rim mostly going right. He excels in transition by sprinting the lane and he has the strength to finish through contact. Morgan does not get a lot of lift on his jumper but showed he could make the open three with time off the catch. He is a good on ball defender and a threat to tip-in misses on the offensive glass.
