Wharton junior shortstop Tucker Neuhaus verbally committed to play baseball at the University of Louisville this weekend, according to his father, Ken Neuhaus.
This past season at Wharton, Neuhaus hit .200 in 16 games with the Wildcats. Meanwhile, the bulk of his experience came during the travel ball season with the Gainesville HardBallers. The past two seasons for the HardBallers, Neuhaus has hit .300.
Neuhaus, who will workout for Major League Baseball scouts tonight at Saint Leo University, also received interest from the University Central Florida, University of Florida, Florida State University, University of South Florida, Maryland, Stanford University and Vanderbilt University.
When the time comes, he won’t be the lone Neuhaus sibling on a collegiate roster. His older brother, Ty, is a freshman catcher at Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz.
