After completing a freshman baseball season in which he batted .462, the highest among Tampa Catholic’s regular batters, Paulie Russo was selected as a Preseason All-American by Baseball Factory.
This past season, the infielder hit .462 with 17 RBIs, eight runs scored, four doubles, one triple and one home run for the Crusaders.
Also, former TC center fielder Matt Darrigo, who has transferred to Jefferson for his senior season, verbally committed to play baseball at the University of South Florida. Last season, Darrigo hit .328 with eight RBIs, 16 runs scored, two doubles and two homers.
Darrigo chose USF over Fordham University, St. John’s University and University of South Carolina Upstate
