Steinbrenner senior Gerald Bautista will sign a National Letter-of-Intent to play baseball at the University of Florida on Wednesday.

The 3B/OF hit .457 last season for the Warriors, scoring 18 runs, collecting 12 RBIs, five doubles and two home runs.

Back in August, Steinbrenner baseball coach John Crumbley said the Cleveland Indians offered to sign Bautista, originally from the Dominican Republic, and allow him to train at the team’s Dominican Republic facility.

He decided not to sign that deal, Crumbley said, returning to the U.S. to finish his senior season at Steinbrenner. He will play for the Warriors during the 2012 season.
