Baseball: Mike Danner verbally commits to UT

Former Gaither and current Polk State College baseball player Mike Danner has verbally committed to play at the University of Tampa.

This past season as a freshman at Polk, Danner hit .357 with 46 RBIs, 13 doubles, five triples and five home runs. He also scored 58 runs. Defensively, Danner compiled a .980 fielding percentage from his spot in the outfield for the Vikings.

Last March, Danner was named the FCSAA Baseball Player of the Week after a four game stretch in which he hit safely in each contest and hoisted a .533 batting average.
