Jefferson pitcher and infielder Corbin Olmstead will play baseball at the University of North Florida, according to Dragons coach Pop Cuesta.
This past season as a junior, Olmstead hit .366 with 33 RBIs, seven doubles, three home runs and a triple. From the mound, Olmstead was 6-1 with a save. He struck out 45 batters en route to a 3.00 ERA.
North Florida won out over offers from the University of South Florida, Dartmouth, East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, Harvard, Jacksonville University and University of Pennsylvania.
Olmstead, entering his senior season at Jefferson, was a first-team All-Western Conference and All-Tribune utility player selection.
