This game probably hasn’t shaken out as most people expected, but USF did take a lead into the half against Western Kentucky.
Running back Demetris Murray (eight carries, 83 yards) provided an offensive spark, and running back Mo Plancher capped a 79-yard drive with a 13-yard touchdown run at the 5:09 mark in the second quarter, which stands as the game’s only score thus far.
USF kicker Eric Schwartz missed two field goal attempts in the first half, from 26 and 46 yards out.
Western Kentucky has missed three field goal attempts, including one as time expired in the first half. The last attempt came following an interception thrown by Bulls quarterback BJ Daniels with 30 seconds left before the break.
