ANAHEIM, Calif. - As strange as this may sound, considering Tampa Bay was up by two goals twice in the second period, they are lucky to get out tied at 3-3. Sure, it’s a let down that the game is tied, but they are not generating a whole lot of offense, they are just being efficient as they have scored three times on 12 shots.
The Ducks, on the other hand, had 17 shots on goal in that period, compared to six for the Lightning. And on consecutive shot attempts - which don’t count as a shot on goal - the Ducks hit posts. Then, after Ryan Malone gives the Lightning a 3-1 lead on a power play goal, Anaheim answers with a pair of goals 12 seconds apart to tie the game.
The key now is to find a way to get some momentum back, and then sustain it. They have a chance with essentially a full power play opportunity to start the third after Chris Pronger was called for hooking with 1.5 seconds left when Evgeny Artyukhin wheeled around him toward the net.
The Lightning have to find a way to score on the opportunity and start tilting the ice back in the other direction for extended periods, especially given the fact that Tampa Bay has yet to win a game this season when they are tied after two periods, sporting a 0-3-4 record.

It was fun to see Marty and Arty both blow past Pronger like he was a statue, wasn’t it?

I saw a side of MSL I haven’t seen in a long time. That all out desire to win was shinin’ bright. He elevated everyone else. Malone, Prospal, V4, and the Mezzy “save” early in the game were highlights.
Pronger the pylon…it was a beautiful sight.
Let’s go Lightning. Kings and Sharks, 4 points, and hand SJS their first home regulation loss.

As badly as they were outplayed in the second period, you have to give them credit for fighting back. It looked pretty grim, and the game was far from an aesthetically pleasing one, but a win is a win, is a win, etc.
We now have a one game winning streak ![]()

Recchi is a cancer and the worst defensive forward on this team. The Bolts need to dump his worthless ##### now if they ever want others to buy into Toc’s supposed system. Recchi does what he wants to on the ice with no regards to the system. He’s a bum and its becoming very clear why he’s been a locker room cancer pretty much everywhere he’s been. Hell some team might actually give up a draft pick but either way he need to go away. And he needs to take Malik with him.
