Armwood wide receiver/running back Javonte Sneed became the fifth Hawks player this year to make an early college commitment when he made a verbal pledge to the University of South Alabama, Armwood coach Sean Callahan announced Wednesday.
Sneed joins running back Matt Jones (Florida), linebacker Eric Striker (Oklahoma), offensive lineman Cody Waldrop (South Carolina) and defensive lineman Sheldon Lewinson (Wake Forest) in Armwood’s list of early commitments.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Sneed, who had 13 receptions last season for 318 yards and one touchdown, also had offers from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and the University of North Texas.
