Armwood junior safety Leon McQuay III, who already has nine scholarship offers from Division I schools, has planned an important round of trips in October with unofficial visits lined up for Ohio State, Notre Dame and the the University of Tennessee.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound McQuay and his father, Leon McQuay II, will head to Knoxville, Tenn., on Oct. 15, where they will attend the Volunteers’ game against Louisiana State, travel to South Bend, Indiana, the following week to see the Irish’s facilities and a game against Southern Cal, and, on the final weekend of October, visit Columbus, Ohio, to take in that school and the Buckeyes’ game against Wisconsin.
McQuay’s other Southeastern Conference suitors include Florida and Vanderbilt. Also on the list of McQuay’s college offers are South Florida, Florida State, Boston College and Alabama-Birmingham.
