Some of the nation’s top prospects descended upon South Bend, Ind., for Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish Future’s Camp on Tuesday, and a pair of Armwood High teammates certainly made their presence known.
Rising junior running back Matt Jones and rising senior receiver A.J. King were among the one-day camp’s standouts according to this story on ESPN.com, with the writer saying Jones was “one of the most impressive players in attendance” and King “was arguably the best receiver on hand.”
Notre Dame is among the handful of school’s to already extend a verbal offer to Jones, who figures to be one of the area’s top recruits in the Class of 2012. While King, who holds offers from Purdue and Iowa, didn’t walk away from the camp with an offer in hand, he is on the Irish’s recruiting radar after his performance, according to Hawks offensive coordinator Evan Davis, who accompanied the duo on the trip.
“It was awesome. We had fun doing (the camp), had fun being here, had fun checking stuff out. I loved the place,” Jones said.
