Armwood’s rising senior offensive lineman Justin Cabbagestalk has verbally committed to Vanderbilt.
Cabbagestalk committed to the Commodores on Monday after taking an unofficial visit to the campus this weekend, a trip that included stops at Louisville and Middle Tennessee State for football camps. Cabbagestalk was with a caravan of Armwood players that included rising seniors Mywan Jackson, Matt Eastman and Rob Jones and assistant coach Evan Davis.
“The ability to get such a great education and be able to play in the SEC were definitely things that stood out,” said Cabbagestalk, a Tribune All-Hillsborough County second team selection last season.
Cabbagestalk also had offers from FIU, Ball State, Miami (Ohio) and Charleston Southern.
Cabbagestalk had offseason shoulder surgery and missed all of spring drills, but Armwood coach Sean Callahan said his lineman returned to summer workouts Monday and looked good.
“He started our summer workouts today and he’s back to full speed again,” Callahan said. “We’re excited for him.”
