Armwood senior defensive lineman Josh Alston will attempt to continue his football career after all.
Alston, who turned down Division I offers from Army, Navy and Air Force to stay close to home and attend USF as a student, has decided to walk on to the Bulls program, he said Monday night. Alston said he recently met with USF coaches and was told by Coach Jim Leavitt that he would be a preferred walk-on.
Alston said he will join the team when he enrolls next fall. He will play either defensive end or outside linebacker in college.
Alston earned Tribune All-Hillsborough County honorable mention honors as a senior after tallying 44 tackles and five sacks.
