Armwood starting left tackle Matt Patchan will not play in the Hawks game against Wharton Friday night because of his ejection in the Hawks victory over Plant.
Patchan had to leave the game in the fourth quarter after his second personal foul penalty. Armwood officials confirmed that FHSAA rules state a player must sit one game following an ejection.
Patchan, who played on both lines against Plant, was penalized for roughing Panthers quarterback Aaron Murray and also in the third quarter for a hit from behind. That penalty negated a 24-yard run by Armwood quarterback Rob Jones.

To Ed Rosenbaum- You could not be more wrong. He is a tremendous athlete and team player that you would want on your team (if you would be honest w/yourself). I was @ the game and also watched it on tv. The first penalty was a horrible call. What ACTUALLY happened was he bocked his man so well that after 10-15 yards the defender could take no more and turned his back to Patchan who legally continued to block him out of the field of play.It was an awful call by an official that simply is not used to seeing a player of this talent level, aggression and effort perform;so the Armwood fans forgive him.It was later reviewed and deemed NOT an unsportsmanlike pers/foul-so Patchan will play this week and rightfully so.

Isn’t there still some question to as how those penalties are going to be recorded?
Matt play well otherwise!

prep football fan- Did you say Patchan will play this week? Is this official? I hope so, because he makes the game even more entertaining. Hawks offensive linemen and defensive linemen are an event to watch by themselves.
