After receiving a request from Armwood High’s administration to clarify the eligibility of a player on its nationally-ranked football team, the Florida High School Athletics Association has sent an investigator to the school to look into the matter.
“We’re going to conduct our investigation because of the details that were included in the original (eligibility clarification request) or lack thereof, we felt we needed a third-party FHSAA investigator involved,’’ said Denarvise Thornton, the FHSAA’s Associate Executive Director for Compliance and Eligibility. “We haven’t put a specific timeline on this because we want to make completely sure that we do our due diligence.’‘
