Pasco County: |

After two weeks at Dodge City (Kansas) Community College, Pasco County’s record-setting running back, Byronell Arline has left the school, according to his former coach, Ridgewood’s Chris Taylor.
Arline, who set the Pasco County rushing record with 2,188 yards and 35 touchdowns, signed a letter-of-intent with the school February 8 and returned to New Port Richey last week.
“I don’t think he felt like he fit in there,” Taylor said, “so he decided to come home.”
According to Taylor, he expects Arline to enroll at a local community college, likely Pasco-Hernando Community College.
During the 2007 season, Arline battled Gulf running back David Williams for the Pasco County rushing crown. Williams finished in a close second with 2,092 yards and 25 touchdowns.
For Taylor, the best thing about Arline leaving is the fact he will enroll in school.
“That’s one of the things I talked to him about, to make sure he continues to take classes because once you stop taking classes in school, there’s always the excuse to say, ‘Oh, well, I’ll do it next year or next semester I’ll enroll,’” Taylor said. “Once you get into the habit, a lot of people never end up going back. The biggest thing is to go ahead [and enroll].”
