Five boys basketball teams from the Hillsborough-Pasco area can be found on the latest Florida Association of Basketball Coaches state polls.
Leading the way is Tampa Prep, which is still undefeated at 16-0. The Terrapins are ranked No. 2 in the Class 2A state poll, behind West Palm Beach Summit Christian.
Cracking the state rankings for the first time in school history is Cambridge Christian, No. 10 in 2A. The Crusaders are 12-2 and are undefeated in district play, with their only losses coming to 3A McKeel Academy and 4A Berkeley Prep.
In 4A, Tampa Catholic (10-4) is ranked No. 9 despite losing four straight. In 5A, Wesley Chapel holds the No. 2 spot. The Wildcats recently dropped to 13-2 with a one-point loss to 6A Armwood and a four-point overtime loss to 6A Mitchell.
Sickles (13-4), which recently edged Strawberry Crest 37-36, is No. 8 in the 6A poll.
