Local boys soccer standouts, Tampa Prep’s Shaddy Douidar and Steinbrenner’s Jason Collister were named Florida Dairy Farmers’ Player of the Year for their respective classes and are both finalists for the organization’s Mr. Soccer award.
Douidar, who led the Terrapins scorers this season with 31 goals, notched the decider in Tampa Prep’s Class 1A finals win over North Miami Beach Scheck Hillel. Douidar, who led the Terrapins to their second-straight state title and sixth since 2005, wins the 1A honors after Jordan Hayes won the award for Tampa Prep last season.
Collister, who led the Warriors offense to their first ever state final appearance, scored 28 goals for Steinbrenner en route to district and region titles.
Tampa Prep coach Doug Smith won the class 1A Coach of the Year honors, his second nod for the award after winning the Class 2A honors in 2010.
Berkeley Prep’s Daniel Felman as the Class 2A runner-up for the award.
