Forum: Talk Rays
|
NASHVILLE—It sounds like there’s at least a 50-50 chance the Rays make another trade before leaving town, though you never know how negotiations will break as offers and counter-offers are exchanged (see the Santana saga).
Joe Maddon was keeping a close eye on the Blackberry during the managers’ luncheon a while ago. We had a good draw, sharing the table with the Twins contingent. Ron Gardenhire is an absolute delight.
Stay tuned. The Rays may be close to landing the outfielder or super-utility guy they’re seeking.
In the meantime, the Tigers and Marlins are at the podium to officially announce their megadeal. Quite a show of force from both organizations, with darn near every official-type from each franchise crowding into the back of the media room. You’ve got Al Kaline and Willie Horton on the Tigers side, Tony Perez and Jack McKeon for the Marlins.
