Tampa Catholic coach Nancy Kroll’s been sporting a t-shirt promoting the upcoming Craig Keeler Memorial Thanksgiving Tournament.
The best advertising for the weekend event is the talent that will be displayed on the court. In addition to Kroll’s Crusaders, a program that made it to the state Final Four last season and is led by four starters averaging double digits in scoring, the tournament features Sickles, with hot Division I prospect Amber Henson and Wharton standouts Shayla Cooper and Alyson Perkins.
Games begin Friday at noon with Sickles facing Palm Harbor University, followed by Wharton vs. Mitchell at 1:30 p.m., Lake Gibson vs. Chamberlain at 3 p.m. and Tarpon Springs vs. Tampa Catholic at 4:30 p.m. The semifinals of the winner’s bracket will be Saturday at noon and 1:30 p.m. and the championship game will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. All games are at Tampa Catholic.
