Days after eight of his family members were claimed by the January 12 earthquake in Haiti, Winter Haven’s Andre Berto called off his Jan. 30 mega fight against Shane Mosley.
After traveling to the country and helping in relief efforts, Berto (25-0, 19 KOs) will climb back into the ring April 10, defending his WBC welterweight title against Carlos Quintana (27-2, 21 KOs) on HBO.
The fight will take place at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise. The undercard will feature Tallahassee’s Tavoris Cloud (20-0, 18 KOs) defending his IBF light heavyweight belt against the ageless Glen Johnson (50-13-2, 34 KOs).
The official announcement will take place at 1 p.m. on March 3 at the LIV Night Club at the Fontainebleau South Beach Hotel.
