After announcing Wednesday on ESPN he would make a trip to Haiti this weekend, Andre Berto has teamed with Everlast to sell limited edition T-shirts to raise funds for the earthquake-stricken country.
Everlast will sale a “Team Berto” shirt and proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.
“Like the rest of the world, we are deeply saddened by the tragic events in Haiti and are committed to using our resources to help those in need,” said Neil Morton, CEO of Everlast Worldwide. “So when news of the disaster broke, we immediately contacted Andre to see how Everlast could help.”

The Jan. 12 earthquake hit extremely close to home for Berto, the WBC welterweight champion who represented Haiti in the 2004 Olympics. His parents are Haitian natives and the family lost at least eight family members to the quake. It took two days for the Berto family to reach his sister and niece following the earthquake. According to Berto his sister’s home was destroyed, but she is now staying with relatives.
Everlast will donate $10,000 worth of clothing to the Berto Dynasty Foundation! The clothes will be distributed to the quake’s survivors.
The limited edition T-shirt, which can be purchased as http://www.Everlast.com for $20, will be in Haiti’s national colors and features both the Everlast and Andre Berto logos as well as the silhouette of Haiti.
