Rookie Josh Johnson is now in at quarterback for the Bucs, meaning all four quarterbacks on the roster not named Garcia have seen extensive action tonight.
There have been some stumbles, notably a fumble by Luke McCown and a near-fumble by Chris Simms, but overall the offensive attack has looked polished regardless of who’s at the controls.
So what will the Bucs do with their stable of QBs? Obviously, going into the regular season with five is out of the question, so who stays and who goes will be a major subplot going forward.

William, you may be a long time fan and not use the word “we”, but I use the word “MY” team and “WE” because as a true fan you may not be on the field but you do spend your money, time, tears, sweat, and a lot of energy on “OUR” team. So if you don’t consider yourself a Buccaneer and just a fan, I feel for you. Just remember you help pay for the uniforms, salaries, and other expenses...I’ve invested a lot of money in this organization so...I know I’m a Buccaneer!

If Simms were cut (everyone hopes, but Gruden doesn’t the balls to do it), he would signed by the Cowboys immediately.

Don’t trust the Griese man. There is a reason why he couldn’t win the starting job in Chicago. He doesn’t have a strong enough arm to throw more than ten yards. 7 Step three yard passes are his game now. But this is pre-season. You got to throw further down field in regular games. His arm is gone.

CFL or nothing for Simms. The remaining QB’s make the team.

I fourth it on Thomas’s dirty hit. What bothered me more was how he tried to look like it was an accident on the sidelines after the play. He was one of the NFL’s media darlings at the time so he could do no wrong.

I grew up in St. Pete. I’m a long time true Bucs fan, but jeez guys, I never claimed to have played for them.
“we can not get ahead of ourselves though, one game, one win at a time.”
You three make me laugh......
GO BUCS!
To you three..... Notice I did not say the word “we”. THis is because I’m a fan, not a part of the team.

I third that sentiment about the dirty hit,.. Zach Thomas rolled intentionally into Griese’s legs,.. one of the most underrated dirty plays I have ever seen,..riese was really good before that,… good to see him back..

i definitely second that comment about Zach Thomas’ dirty hit on our QB at the time. we looked excellent on all cylinders last night. we can not get ahead of ourselves though, one game, one win at a time. i feel really good about everything except the pass rush, we didnt get any sacks last night. great job. GO BUCS!

Greise is the best choice at QB for the Bucs. He is the prototype “Gruden Quarterback”. Reminds me alot of Rich Gannon. Greise was actually on the money for the Bucs, till he was hurt but Zack Thomas’s cheap & dirty hit a few years ago. We were 5-1 at that time. He never played for the Bucs again till now.
I actually think Greise should be the #1 QB. He’s not as spastic and will be more durable than Garcia. Also he wont cry as much.

Simms looked awfull, Mccown looked ok. And as much as it pains me to say Griese was “MONEY”. Don’t get cocky, Bucs!....but damn we did look good.

GTSkyrider, I totally agree with you. This is OUR team 6 days a week & twice on Sunday. Too many QB’s have been hit with that same low cheap shot like Thomas’. If Griese does play this season & throws 5 or 10 yd passes for wins, I’m totally on board. Brad Johnson did it to the Superbowl. I just want US to WIN with OUR team every week, especially against the Saints. I can’t wait to see Bush try that hurtle move on T Jack. Bush is gonna get jacked up.
