Hillsborough defensive end Jordan Sherit is fast becoming one the area’s top college recruits.
Wednesday, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Sherit picked up his 10th college scholarship offer from a Division I school when the University of Connecticut made him a pitch, Terriers coach Earl Garcia announced.
UConn joins Cincinnati, the University of Central Florida, South Carolina, Auburn, Purdue, Duke, Miami, Vanderbilt and the University of South Florida who have made Sherit offers.
Sherit, an honors student who is enrolled in Hillsborough’s International Baccalaureate program, this season recorded team-highs in tackles (110) and sacks (9), both of which were among the top numbers in the county.
