Q: What is the future of Mike Alstott? Didn’t hear much about his possible retirement. Is he still planning on playing in Tampa next year? Great Bucs Coverage Guys!!!!—K.L Olson, Dakota City, Iowa
A: Alstott hasn’t decided whether he wants to play in 2008 but quite frankly, he doesn’t fit into Tampa Bay’s plans going forward. The Bucs are interested in a speedy complement to Graham or Cadillac and they like Askew in the fullback role. It appears Mike’s distinguished NFL career has come to an end at the age of 34.

Thank you for everything you have done here in Tampa, and I’m guessing will do in the future. I hope you are wise enough not to attempt to play again and the Bucs are wise enough to get you into their community relations department ASAP.
Thank you for giving your all, all the time.

What a consumate Pro Football player Mike Alstott was in his prime. That’s been a while. Needless to say, I’m grateful that he remained a Buc. I’ll look forward to seeing him inducted into the HOF, as a Buc. I’d also like for him to consider coaching running backs. Hopefully he’ll be associated with the Bucs a long time, in some capacity.

I use to love watching Alstott run over guys and then hear Chris Berman narate his runs after the game. However, the key word is use to. Alstott is not the same guy any more and while a lot of fans may not want to hear that, I think it would be the right decision for them to let him go.
However, I’d love to see him on the side lines as an Asst. Coach.

Mike is the consumate teamate. He was a great FB/ RB and we sincerely thankyou for being the great player/ teamate and all around great person that you are. Mike it’s time to hang up those cleats and not risk any further injury. There is so much you can teach these younger guys and the Buc’s would be crazy not to offer you a coaching job. We love seeing you on the sidelines and you will always be a shine star as one of our favorite BUC’s. Thanks for the great memories “A TRAIN”.
