Alonso’s Bennett re-enters the recruiting race

Alonso’s C.J. Bennett has de-committed from Wyoming University.

The senior quarterback committed to the Cowboys earlier this year, but has since had a change of heart.

“His recruiting is now open again and we’ll see what happens,” said Chip Bennett, his father and the Ravens quarterbacks coach.

Bennett is Hillsborough County’s second leading passer with 2,083 yards and 21 touchdowns. He is getting national recognition as one of several quarterbacks from around the country participating in a reality competition TV show called “The Ride.”

The quarterbacks are competing for a spot in January’s U.S. Army All-American Game. Bennett survived the first round of cuts, which aired on Tuesday on Sun Sports.
