Alonso standout linebacker Aaron Buckley, one of the Ravens’ leading tacklers last season, has transferred back to Tampa Catholic where he played his freshman season, Crusaders coach Bob Henriquez confirmed Wednesday.

The 6-0, 210-pound Buckley played both middle and outside linebacker for the Ravens last fall. During the regular season, he was second in tackles with a total of 80. He also recorded two sacks and, in the school’s first playoff victory, returned an interception 73 yards for a touchdown against Newsome.
Henriquez said Buckley began his prep football career at TC but decided to transfer to Alonso as a sophomore, where he also saw regular action on the varsity. In a game against Leto that season, Buckley recorded a team-high 12 tackles against Leto. Buckley will now play his spring football at TC and finish up his senior year with the Crusaders.
