Alonso DB Jordan Davis has narrowed down his choices of potential colleges. The finalists are Florida International and the University of South Alabama, Alonso coach Brian Emanuel said.
FIU assistant coach Apollo Wright made the trip last Friday to watch Alonso beat Tampa Catholic, 31-15.
“Obviously FIU was here Friday and really pushing Jordan and I think Jordan is really close to committing,” Emanuel said. “I think he likes both schools and we’ll see.”
Wright likely enjoyed what he saw that night.
Although he caught just one ball on offense, Davis collected seven total tackles, five of which were solo, picked off a Crusaders pass and showed closing speed while defending a deep pass in the third quarter.
On the season, Davis has 56 total tackles, five passes defenses, two interceptions and one sack.
