King rising senior and 6-foot-8 power forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick picked up eight more scholarship offers since dazzling college coaches at the AAU National Tournament at Disney’s Wide World of Sports two weeks ago with Team Stat.
On Monday, Fitzpatrick said Alabama, Ole Miss, UCF, Georgia Southern, Morehead State, East Carolina, Eastern Illinois and East Tennessee State offered, bringing his total to 13. Florida State, Miami, Tulane, Hofstra and Mercer have also offered.
“Those are the ones I thought of off the top of my head,” Fitzpatrick said. “When I got back (to Tampa), coaches have been calling everyday.”
Fitzpatrick said he hasn’t decided whether he’ll commit before or after the season.
“It’s going to be a tough decision,” he said. “I want to go to a school where it will be a smooth transition for me.”
Fitzpatrick, who currently has 1,594 career points, was named to the Tribune All-County second-team as a junior after averaging 15.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, Rivals.com named him one of the top underclassmen in the state, along with Ridgewood power forward Lukas Poderis.
