Academy of the Holy Names leading scorer Selena Castillo has committed to Emory University in Atlanta.

Castillo, who was recruited by many other colleges including the University of Tampa, is a three-year starter and four-year letterwinner for the Jaguars. She is a finalist for Hillsborough County’s Dottie McGahagin Award, which her former teammate Katie Davis won last year.

This season, Castillo helped lead Academy to a 17-7 record and with a team-high scoring average of 13.5 points per game. She also led the team in assists (5.1), rebounds (5.5) and steals (4.6).

An all-around athlete, Castillo also lettered in cross country, track & field and softball. She also played volleyball.
