Academy at the Lakes athletic director Tom Haslem announced Wednesday afternoon the hiring of new boys and girls soccer coaches, a volleyball coach and a track and field coach.
Volleyball: Brian Gonzales
Boys Soccer: Ted Hassenfelt
Track and Field: Troy Williams
Girls Soccer: Briana Jamison
Gonzales previously assisted at Cardinal Mooney as well as Lakewood Ranch. He’s also been the head coach Suncoast Volleyball Club of Sarasota since 2005.
Hassenfelt is a former college soccer player for Davidson and coached soccer at The O’Neal School (Pinehurst, N.C.) from 2007-2012, posting a record of 59-23-8. He was also a head coach for FC Tampa from 2003-2006.
Williams was a four-year letterman in cross country and track at the University of New Orleans, then was the track coach at Tampa Prep in 2003 before being the athletic director for Academy of Holy Names from 2003-04.
Jamison spent last season as an assistant at Academy at the Lakes for varsity girls soccer.
