Academy at the Lakes football workouts start next Wednesday

The Academy at the Lakes football program will begin its summer workouts June 23 at 10 a.m. The weight room will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon.

All Academy players must report at that time. Those who are interested in playing for the Wildcats must meet at the school’s gym, located at 2331 Collier Parkway in Land O’ Lakes, by 10 a.m. on those days.

The program, which has been taken over by former Wesley Chapel football coach John Castelamare, begins fall football practice July 20 at 9 a.m. That will be the first time Castelamare’s well-known Ironman challenge will take place.
