It was something many of my colleagues alluded to when I was hired to be the new USF beat writer, and something I am quickly learning to be true.
USF football coach Skip Holtz offers some decent sound bites.
No, his quips haven’t been anything Earth-shattering, but at least I’m not being subject to the same garden variety coachspeak on a daily basis (something I’ve been thankful for).
In my Bulls Beat that appeared in Thursday’s Tampa Tribune, which focuses mostly on the men’s soccer team’s big week last week, I included a short phrase from Holtz’s press conference Tuesday. Holtz mentioned a few times over the past week how advantageous bye weeks can be for a team - and how this one was - but the phrase touches on how bye weeks also can be pretty dull (and painful?).
And, HERE is the practice report from Wednesday that appeared in Thursday’s paper.
