Bucs Report
3 Bulls headed to Bucs mini-camp

University of South Florida WR Amarri Jackson and offensive linemen Walter Walker and Jared Carnes will attend the Bucs rookie camp Friday through Sunday.

The players will arrive Thursday before the camp begins on Friday.

None of the three have signed a undrafted free agent contract - Jackson told me Sunday night he had signed a free agent deal with the Bucs, but it turns out it was just an invitation to Bucs camp. Players at the camp will include the Bucs’ entire 2008 draft class, plus any undrafted players that have already formalized a deal.

CB Mike Jenkins (first round, Dallas), CB Trae Williams (fifth round, Jacksonville) and LB Ben Moffitt (free agent, Houston) also will be in NFL camps, giving USF six former Bulls in NFL camps.

USF DL Richard Clebert is still in the process of working out a free agent deal. He’s considering Oakland, Miami and Minnesota.

Ben - So right you are. In my haste to point out another’s error, I goofed and didn’t check my own spelling. It’s grammar.

By the way, I think Tommy Blake is going to be the steal of the year.

Hey guys - It is grammar, not grammee

Don, if you’re going to critique someone’s grammer it would be helpful if yours was also correct. The third sentence in your comment ("Please pick another team to be a fan of") should have read: “Please pick another team for which you can be a fan;” or “Please pick another team you can support.” Ending a sentence with “of” shows poor grammatical form. However, it’s hard to disagree with your point about their comments!

I think it is great the Bucs have invited the three Buls players.  I know the two linemen are pretty bi and the Bucs have several O-linmen who are free agents.  So, what do you thisnk?  Any have a chance to stick even if on practice squad?

So George you would have taken a wide receiver with the Bucs pick who didnt even get drafted in the first round?  The WR cast wasnt strong this year, I would bet there will be 5+ receivers that will end out better than Devin Thomas.

Don and Tom the Bucs fans are a bunch of rednecks with magnets and flags on their cars (only when their winning) and you dont want a fan with bad grammer to root for the Bucs anymore.  You are lucky they are able to read and navigate this intraweb.

Anybody who thinks this was a bad draft for the bucs does not truly know the players that we picked up. Yes we didnt get jenkins, but to be upset with this draft is crazy. We got a home run hitter in dexter jackson, a really good cover 2 corner(issues yes, but his playing style fits great with cover 3 tampa 2), a potential first round talent dt who just needs to not take plays off, a very good qb, versatile offensive lineman, outstanding running back(unfortunately i think that means bye bye to darby :( ) and a talented linebacker.

I agree Don. This is bad.

Wow! The spelling and grammer from these so called fans is sad. Please pick another team to be a fan of. The Bucs don’t need your uneducated support.

Chauncey, We used all of our picks last year on defence and 3 picks on defence this year. I think we are pretty solid on defence now. Now we need the ability to score more points on offence to help our powerfull Defence. The defence is doing thier job.

da draft fill in for what we needed people don’t understand what bruce allen is doing . jon gruden is not da coach to build a young team wit.it is time for a change .rebuild da defense first, than work on da offense .defense win superbowls

Is it true that Tommy Blake the DL from TCU, will be at the mini camp? If this guy can get back to what he was a couple of seasons ago, watch out he can be a dominate player. But it always comes down to IF, on most of these troubled players.

I really believe that I could have done better, Just by following around the country of what certain players bring to the board. Tampa spends Millions of dollars for all this vast players abilities. Here what I would do
Rd-1 WR Devin Thomas-Mich St,Rd-2 Justin King CB-Penn State;Rd-3 OC-Mike Pollack-Ariz St.,Rd-4 FB Peyton Hillis-ArkRD-5,WR-Lavelle Hawkins-Cal,Rd-6 S-DJ Parker Va Tech.
