In Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, a cap on applications for home inspections - the first step in getting a grant - has been exceeded by more than 800.

The state Board of Education will vote here today on Hillsborough County schools’ plan to pay 5 percent performance bonuses to its top 25 percent of teachers and administrators.
A “yes” vote would make Hillsborough the first district in the state approved for the pay-for-performance plan required by 2006 legislation, Florida Education Commissioner John Winn said Monday. Winn said he is recommending approval because the plan meets state criteria of awarding teachers for individual students’ learning gains and evaluates teachers by category, including “outstanding.”

That may not be enough to satisfy The Donald.
