Buy large cuts of meat, quantity bags of chicken, divide and freeze into meal sized meals; stopped buying junk foods (lost four pounds, too); buy clearance garden plants at lowes for 25 cents each rather than paying $3.95; priceline vacation, saved over $550; pay car loan before due date, save $20/month; work one extra shift a week which goes directly onto existing credit card debt extra, for a monthly payment of over $600; plan one day a week for errands (doctor, food shop, lumber yard, vegetable stand) to save gas; learned carpentry, basic masonry and landscaping to restore old house myself rather than hire contractors; keep shades drawn and sun out during the day and use a fan in the room i’m in to cut electric bill, etc.

I have a Senseo coffee maker and my wife and I spend about $6.00 for 1 pak of 16 pods total of 4 oz. of coffee(makes 8 full cups) and purchase at lease 4 paks per week. I found on line a item called an “EcoPod” which allows you to use ground coffee ($4.49 for 16oz at Albertson’s) I can now make the same amount of coffee for $19.51 less! Hot Dawg!

In an effort to save money I only shop when it is absolutely necessary.  In order to save money on gas, I purchase the least expensive fuel I can find.  I do not travel to visit friends or relatives. I delay paying some bills to have cash a little longer.

I began pinching pennies to contribute to our enviroment, ended up helping my pocket book. Changed all 26 our of 28 lights in my home to flourescent, wattage from approx 7500 to approx 400.  Turn water heater off for 3 day spans & it has enough hot water for showers. Clothes, except bedding, washed in cold water. Dry my clothes on a outside line, unplugged the electric dryer. Cut my hair short no need an electric dryer. Vegan diet is incredibly cheap w/bulk grains & beans the base.Lots of inexpensive fresh produce to aument the grains & beans. Bought electric scooter to work, couple times a month.  A new roof with a ridge vent, my bills have been reduced by approx 200.00 monthly. Saving money, being healthier and much happier.
