Wendy’s and AirTran Airways have teamed up in a free flight giveaway. If you buy 32 drinks at Wendy’s, you get a free one-way airfare. Roundtrip costs you 64 drinks. People are apparently going to extremes to collect the necessary cups, diving in dumpsters to pull out used cups. Would you “dumpster dive†for free tickets? What do you think about those who do?

I personally wouldn’t do it, but don’t think that it is wrong. These people are pretty funny if you ask me. They will also have the last laugh when they are the one’s flying! I say GO FOR IT!

My brother and I have been diving for cups at night, and apparently so are others because you can tell they’ve been raided. Already got all the round trip tickets we are allowed (the whole family, 12 round trip tickets total!!) and have been selling the left overs on craigslist.com for $1 each cup (cut/cleaned). It’s crazy!! I love it.

i don’t know why the airline, just simply say to produce a receipt when submitting their cups. if people are truly interested they will save them. that will eliminate scrubby divers.

‘Dumpster Diving’ for free or cheap items is similar to walking through the doors of a Wal-Mart. They both are degrading and humiliating.

I wouldn’t dive through a smelly dumpster. I have looked on Ebay for some cups because I am collecting them. I haven’t bought any on there but I am up to about 36 cups and my mother-in-law collected about 10 on her trip up North so I am up to 46 cups. I’m getting there! It’s a slow process but I still have dignity.
I did see a guy asking people if they wanted their cup at one Wendy’s. He was soliciting them as they were getting ready to throw away their food. I wouldn’t do either.

I have been collecting them for my mom but would not go as far as dumpster diving.. YUCK! I think she almost has enough for a round trip.. The promotion is a great idea.
