Downtown Gridlock

Commuters met gridlock this week in downtown Tampa as 20,000 people headed to a sold-out motivational seminar. Some residents said this proved Tampa is not ready to host a big event such as a National Convention. Many others were left wondering what would happen if Bay area residents had to evacuate during a hurricane. Tell us what you think.

We as a community are all talk and no action. We have been debating multimodal transportation since 1987 and still are just talking about it. Most every plan has been shot down because of the lack of public support and too few elected officials willing to take the lead.

Perhaps after we have gridlock we will find constructive solutions.

Nothing New!
Once again Tampa seeks to aspire with the big boys without having the sense God gave a politician.
Two friends attended that seminar and one described the exodus as “ants exiting a hill”.
Ants do it much better but still climb over one another like women at a shoe sale!
Unless Tampa can build a venue large enough and openly accessible to handle the multitudes it will be like a used car lot in slow motion.
Lord forbid if should the need arise to evacuate Tampa quickly, everyone feels they are more important than the next guy, hence Chaos!
Raymond James Stadium is the answer.
If it does rain during the Democratic National Convention,no big deal.
Most politicians are “all wet” in ways to numerous to mention!!
