I think something needs to be done because there are too many people falling through the cracks. I have been told that although I am a diabetic, I do not qualify for any assistance other than Food Stamps. My employment prospects are slim due to other circumstances in my life. The person I am with is not allowed by government rules to help me. The legislators and whoever our new governor will be, need to fix this mess before people die because they cannot get health care or medicine.

I agree, I have been caring for my disabled husband for years. I am now in alot of pain because I fell down a flight of stairs and can’t seem to get help for my medical needs.Husband has medical, I don’t qualify. We live on my husbands disability check now and can hardly find money to eat, all goes to pay rent and electric costs, not much left for food. I want to go back to work but I need to get healthy first but how? Why are the caregivers never cared for?
