Some Pasco County residents have been trying for months to gather the 100 new memberships it will take to charter a local branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. At the same time, several events are planned throughout the Bay area this week to recall the legacy of the murdered civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
