SEFFNER - A woman pointed a handgun at her boyfriend and shot into the ground and into the air during a dispute Sunday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Judith Joy Destefano, 43, of 110 Nita Drive, Seffner, was held without bail at Orient Road Jail today. She is charged with felony aggravated assault and a misdemeanor for discharging a firearm in public, records show.
According to a criminal report affidavit, Destefano pointed a handgun at her boyfriend and another person outside her home about 11:20 p.m. Sunday and threatened to kill both of them. She then fired the weapon into the ground and once in the air, the affidavit states.
No one was injured.
Destefano and her boyfriend, who was not identified, have lived together for two years, the affidavit states. The other person was not identified in the affidavit.
