LAKE BUENA VISTA - The Walt Disney World water ride that injured six people is open today.
Disney spokeswoman Kim Prunty says the Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom was reopened yesterday afternoon. The six were injured while being evacuated from the ride earlier in the day.
The ride was closed as authorities conducted safety checks. No problems were found. But Prunty says the inspection found that the platform used to evacuate passengers from the ride vehicles
“disengaged and slid.”
The ride simulates a river rapids trip through an Asian rain forest.
Five Disney visitors and an employee were taken to hospitals to be treated for their injuries and were later released.
