Shayla Muldrow
TAMPA - Security video was released today showing a mother storming onto a school bus and urging her daughter to fight with another child.
Shayla A. Muldrow, 26, was arrested March 2 and charged with three misdemeanors and released on her own recognizance, Tampa police spokeswoman Andrea Davis said.
Muldrow boarded the school bus bound for Booker T. Washington Elementary about 7:30 a.m. that day, Davis said.
Once she ascertained the identity of a 10-year-old girl who had been in a fight with her 9-year-old daughter, Davis said, Muldrow directed her daughter to strike the other child.
Davis said the bus driver ordered Muldrow to leave the bus, but she would not. The driver called police.
Officers charged Muldrow with battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and trespassing. The battery charge stems from her daughter striking the other girl at Muldrow’s direction, Davis said. Muldrow did not hit anyone.
School district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said the students were not disciplined. “The bus driver responded appropriately,” she said.
