Evelyn and Bruce AikenZEPHYRHILLS - It was a murder-suicide behind the death of a couple in one of the area’s best-known mobile home communities, Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.
Pasco County detectives said Bruce Aiken, 73, shot and killed his wife, Evelyn, 81, on Thursday at their home at 36922 Grace Ave. Aiken also shot and killed their golden retriever. Then, he killed himself, authorities said.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office received a call shortly after 3:30 p.m. Thursday about two bodies inside 36922 Grace Ave., according to a news release.
The weapon was a .38-caliber handgun and the bodies were in the bedroom. A note was left but the contents of the note are not being released, authorities said.
The home is part of Betmar Acres, a retirement community just outside Zephyrhills. The golf course community is one of the largest in the state.
