TAMPA – Seven out of the 15 applicants for the top federal prosecutor’s job in the Middle District of Florida will be interviewed for the job, the head of the nominating commission said.
The following candidates will be interviewed: Assistant U.S. attorneys Adelaide Few and Dennis Moore of the Tampa office, Cyntha Hawkins of the Orlando Office and F.T. “Frank” Williams of the Northern District of Florida in Gainesville. Also, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth Lawson and Tampa attorneys Brian Albritton and L.T. Lafferty.
The candidates will be interviewed July 10 and the nominating committee hopes to forward at least three names to Sen. Mel Martinez, who will consult with Sen. Bill Nelson before forwarding his suggestions to the White House, according to Micky Grindstaff, statewide chairman of the judicial nominating commission.
The job became open in March when U.S. Attorney Paul Perez stepped down to take a job in the private sector.
