BRANDON – A man suspected of shooting into a Riverview home early Sunday morning, killing one man, was arrested late Monday, sheriff’s officials said.
DeAndre Terrance Woodruff, 27, was arrested around 9:15 p.m., sheriff’s spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
Woodruff, who goes by the nickname “Debo,†is suspected of fighting with Thomas “Bo” Cannon outside his house at 10502 Sanford St. in Riverview.
According to Cannon’s relatives, Woodruff had come to the house around 7 a.m. Sunday, looking to be paid for some electrical work he had performed. But the work was not done, and Cannon refused to pay him, Cannon’s father-in-law said Sunday.
The pair began fighting in front of the house, and Cannon threw a metal pipe at Woodruff before retreating into his house.
Woodruff went to his car and grabbed a pistol and fired at least five shots into the home, Carter said Monday night.
Cannon was struck by one of the bullets in the head and later died.
Deputies arrested Woodruff, who resides at 9433 Windermere Lake Drive, Apt. 304 in Tampa, at his attorney’s house around 9:15 p.m.
Woodruff remained at the Orient Road Jail early Tuesday, held without bail on a second degree murder charge and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling.
