ST. PETERSBURG – Police officers said they’ve solved a case of murder.
Officers arrested Christopher Taylor, 24, Tuesday night and charged him with second degree murder. They say Taylor got into a fight with Jamey Lasseter, 33, near 20th Avenue South and 45th Street South Sunday night and shot him several times.
Lassiter was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
There were several witnesses to the fight, according to a press release. Officers saw Taylor leaving his apartment at 5703 18th Way South Tuesday night and arrested him without incident, according to investigators.
In addition to the second degree murder charge, Taylor is charged with violating his probation. Investigators said Taylor was placed on five years probation earlier this year for several drug offenses.
