TAMPA - Hillsborough County Commissioner Ronda Storms made it official today, resigning from her District 4 commission seat to run for Senate District 10.
Storms’ resignation, which is required under Florida law before she can qualify as a Senate candidate, will take effect Nov. 7, the date she would take office in the Senate if she wins that race.
The outspoken Republican commissioner said she’s confident she can make the leap from representing a part of Hillsborough County to serving constituents from three counties on a statewide stage.
“I’m sure some things will work for me and some things won’t,’’ she said. “I’ll learn. I’m a quick study.’’
Storms also noted that she has qualified for the Senate seat by petition, collecting the required 2,617 petition signatures to be certified in all three counties included in District 10.
Elected to the county commission in 1998, she is among four candidates vying for the Senate seat being vacated by Republican Tom Lee, who is running for Florida chief financial officer. District 10 includes portions of Hillsborough, Polk and Pasco counties.
Also running are former state Rep. Sandra Murman, Plant City building contractor Ray Young and Stephen Gorham, of Plant City, a telecommunications director for Hillsborough Community College.
Great, now Ronda is going to make us all look bad at the state level instead of the local level!
there is no way I would ever vote for Ronda Storm...she is nothing but a hypocrite...her main priority for years appeared to be with Joe Redner and his stip clubs. THERE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THING OUT THERE THEN HER PERSONEL VENDEDA WITH OUTLAWING SEX...IF YA DON’T LIKE IT THEN HIDE....

WHO WOULD VOTE FOR RHONDA STORMS?ALL SHE WANTS TO DO IS TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS AS A HUMAN BEING.I WOULD VOTE FOR HER FOR PRESIDENT OF THE DOG CATHER’S SOCIETY,THAT’S ABOUT IT.I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY TO HER.LET US ENJOY OUR 1ST AMMENDMENT.
I hope anyone no matter who it is beats her. I can not stand Rhonda Storms when i lived there and still cant now that im not. I truly hope someone else wins because it would do the state a great injustice if she did win.
"I’m a quick study”...wow, what a quote from someone as who has never had an open mind about anything. Maybe she should study how to be a better human being by following her own beliefs more closely and quit forcing them on the rest of us. We all need to ban together and make sure that Ronda Storms does not win this seat since her cruel, biggoted opinions are not very “Christian” like at all. The residents of these 3 counties could not have worse representaion in Distrct 10 if Ronda Storms is elected.
Wonderful, Anything to get her out of Hillsboro!!!
This is all the state needs, another right wing bible thumper who thinks it’s a sin to wear a bikini in public and wants to thrust her morals on the rest of society. This woman doesn’t belong in a house, she belongs under a carnivale tent.

Please, people-if you don’t like this woman and you don’t want her to represent you at the State level, do us all a favor and make sure you vote in this election. Down with this woman.
